Multi-Network Digests FAQ
Table of Contents
How do I combine my separate web, Facebook, and X digests into one Multi-Network Digest in NewsWhip?
Existing digests aren't merged automatically. Edit one of your current digests, add the other networks you want included, and save. Then delete the separate digests you no longer need so you don't receive duplicate emails.
Will my existing NewsWhip digests be automatically converted into Multi-Network Digests after this update?
No. Your existing digests stay exactly as they are and continue to send as before. Multi-Network Digests apply to digests you create or edit going forward.
Can I still create a single-network NewsWhip digest for just one network?
Yes. If you select only one network, the digest works exactly as it does today, including the option to add a timeline visualization.
Why is the timeline visualization option disabled when I select more than one network in my Multi-Network Digest?
The timeline visualization is available only for single-network digests. When you select two or more networks, the option is disabled and you'll see the message "Timeline is available for one network only." Multi-Network Digests instead show each network's total values, highlights statement, and percent change from the previous period at the top of the email.
Why does my Multi-Network Digest show only 5 posts per network when my single-network digest shows 12?
To keep the email readable when it covers several networks, Multi-Network Digests show the top 5 articles or posts for each network. If your digest includes web articles with Themes turned on, it shows up to 5 themes plus the top 5 posts for each social network. Single-network digests continue to show 12 posts.
Why doesn't my Multi-Network Digest with web articles and social networks include the "Also in the news" section?
"Also in the news" appears in Web Only digests. When a digest combines web articles with one or more social networks and Themes are turned on, it shows up to 5 themes and the top 5 posts per social network instead of "Also in the news."
Why am I not seeing AI-generated Themes or Change of Interest in my hourly Multi-Network Digest?
Themes and Change of Interest are included only in digests sent Daily or Weekly. If your digest is sent more often than daily, these sections won't appear. To include them, change the digest's frequency to Daily or Weekly.
Why is my Multi-Network Digest email cut off or clipped in Gmail or Outlook?
Digests that include many networks produce longer emails, and Gmail and Outlook may clip long messages. To see the full digest, click "View entire message" in your email client, or use the link in the digest to open the relevant search in NewsWhip.
How can I tell which networks are included in a Multi-Network Digest in the Alerts Centre?
Each digest in the Alerts Centre shows icons for its networks. A digest can show up to 4 network icons. If it includes more than 4 networks, 3 icons are shown and you can hover over them to see the full list of networks by name.
Can I add or remove a network from an existing NewsWhip digest without deleting and recreating it?
Yes. Edit the digest, select or deselect networks, and save. Your changes apply only once you save.
How are posts ordered for each network in a Multi-Network Digest email?
The footer of each Multi-Network Digest lists every included network and how its content is ordered. For example, web articles and Facebook posts are ordered by predicted interactions, X and Bluesky posts by total interactions, TikTok and YouTube videos by views, Reddit posts by score, and Instagram posts by likes.
Do I need a specific plan or special permissions to create a Multi-Network Digest in NewsWhip?
No. Multi-Network Digests are available on all plans to standard NewsWhip users who already have access to Digests. No setup is required.
